    Authentic Applications of Biochemistry allows students to engage in science and engineering practices that enable them to apply foundational concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to real‐world scenarios and laboratory investigations.
    • Maintain a portfolio of laboratory techniques and reports to demonstrate content mastery and communication skills
    • Ask questions that arise from careful observation of phenomena, or unexpected results, to clarify and or seek additional information
    • Plan and conduct investigations to produce data to serve as evidence and determine accuracy of data needed to produce reliable measurements

Details
AAB1Cells and Scientific Instruments
Students will use prior knowledge and deductive reasoning to learn proper usage of scientific instruments to expand their understanding of science and engineering practices in the context of biology and chemistry with a cellular basis.
AAB2Medical Science
Students will ask questions and define problems related to medical science, with an emphasis on nutrition, health, and diagnosis. Students will engage in science and engineering practices to develop deeper understanding of interactions between body systems, energy sources, and requirements for the body and applications of this knowledge to problems related to medical science.
AAB3Chemistry
Students will utilize chemical reactions to interpret and analyze graphic models and the physical nature of chemical compounds.
AAB4Forensics
Students will learn how to gather and observe critical pieces of forensic evidence. This allows students to investigate and analyze multiple sources of evidence and data to reach and defend an argument and/or explanation for a forensic investigation.
