    Description
    The focus of this class will be on the Missouri Health/Physical Education Standards.  It will include:  structures of, functions of and relationships among human body systems; principles and practices of physical, mental, social, and emotional health (such as, but not limited to, personal health habits, nutrition, stress management); diseases and methods for prevention, treatment and control; methods used to assess health, reduce risk factors, and avoid high risk behaviors (such as violence, tobacco, alcohol and other drug use); consumer health issues (such as the effects of mass media and technologies on safety and health); and responses to emergency situations.
    In this course, students will receive at least 30 minutes of CPR instruction and training in the proper performance of the Heimlich and/or other first aid choking maneuvers.

    Note: This curriculum was written prior to the 2014-2015 school year. It is scheduled to be rewritten following the Rockwood Curriculum Schedule.
